Create your own locker style wardrobe
Looking for a unique storage solution for your bedroom? Jan-Willem has created his own wardrobe in the popular "locker style". This completely self-made project combines functionality with a cool look.
The Construction and Materials
The cabinet is constructed from sturdy Underlayment Finnish Pine B/BB, a type of wood that is not only sustainable, but also has a beautiful natural look. The characteristic grain and knots give the cabinet a robust look that goes fantastically with an industrial interior.
Perfect in the bedroom
This wardrobe really comes into its own in the bedroom. It fits perfectly between the lush curtains and the colorful wall with insect motifs, which creates a playful yet modern atmosphere.
Unique Features
The wardrobe has a unique layout with both shelves and a hanging area, so there is enough space for every type of garment. In addition, there are handy drawers at the bottom for extra storage space. The cut-out slots in the doors enhance the 'locker' look and at the same time provide ventilation.
The Advantage of Custom Made
Thanks to OPMAATZAGEN.nl all wooden parts could be cut to size. This allowed Jan Willem to create exactly what he had in mind. The convenience of custom wood saves you both time and energy, and offers the freedom to design exactly what you need.
Underlayment Finnish Pine B/BB
Underlayment Finnish Pine B/BB is a popular choice for DIY projects because of its light weight and easy workability. The surface is smooth, which is ideal for painting or varnishing, if desired. The natural color and structure give every project a warm look.
Tough Industrial Style
The wardrobe is a great mix of the tough, industrial style with a personal touch. This style makes a powerful statement in your interior and fits many different types of furnishings.

Step by step guide
Preparation
- In measuring in the space and determining what exactly you want to put in it. We wanted to be able to hang some children's clothes but possibly use a shelf later. So we made both possible.
Montage
- The planks are screwed together using pocket holes, so you won't see any screws or screw holes anywhere.
Tips from Jan Willem
Make sure you choose screws that match your material; this will add to the stability and durability of your project. And of course, always measure twice before sawing or screwing!
