Stylish Sliding Doors and Shoe Cabinet for the Hallway, by Melany

Sliding Doors and a Shoe Cabinet for a Tidy Hallway

Melany was inspired by the beautiful selection of custom-cut wood at OPMAATZAGEN.nl and tackled her hallway all at once. She made a functional wardrobe with sliding doors for coats and a low shoe cabinet in the same color. The goal was clear: to create a tidy entrance where coats and shoes are neatly out of sight.

The Construction and Materials

Precision-cut MDF forms the basis for the door construction. The sliding doors are finished with high-quality paint in the specific shade Sikkens 5051 Color Concept - G5.13.66 . This subtle green color not only adds a modern touch but also ensures a calm appearance.

Sliding doors for the coats

This masterpiece graces the hallway and is not only a visual enhancement but also a practical solution. The sliding doors make efficient use of the space, ideal for narrow hallways where hinged doors are less suitable.

A Low Shoe Cabinet in the Same Shade

Further down the hallway stands a low shoe cabinet with sleek doors without visible handles. Behind the doors are multiple shelves, ensuring that each pair of shoes has its own spot and the floor by the front door remains clear. Because the cabinet is not too deep, there is plenty of walking space left.

The shoe cabinet is painted in the same green shade as the sliding doors, creating a harmonious whole between the two pieces. The top surface also serves as a convenient spot for decoration: with a vase of dried flowers, a photo frame, and the botanical wallpaper behind it, the entrance takes on a warm, personal touch.

The Unique Design

What makes the design unique is the simplicity combined with functionality. Melany's choice of sliding doors means more freedom of movement in a limited space, and the shoe cabinet complements this beautifully with its sleek fronts.

Sustainability and Customization

Thanks to OPMAATZAGEN.nl's precision sawing, the doors fit perfectly in any space. It offers the possibility to fully tailor your material and dimensions to your own wishes and budget, so you get more out of every square meter.

Benefits of Involved Materials

MDF Primed: This versatile wood type is ready to paint, allowing you to start finishing immediately. MDF Primed is also smooth, giving your project a sleek and professional look.

MDF Natural: The major advantage of MDF Natural is the raw, natural finish. This material offers a great deal of freedom in both finish and color choice, ideal if you are still unsure about the final look.

Modern Minimalist Style

The choice of a minimalist design gives the hallway a modern look. The colors and design exude simplicity and tranquility, perfect for a neat entrance. By finishing the sliding doors and the shoe cabinet in the same color, the entire hallway appears as one well-thought-out design.

Handy DIY Tips

A good tip is to always measure carefully before you start sawing. Measure at least twice to ensure the correct dimensions. Use high-quality sliding mechanisms to ensure that the doors open and close smoothly and quietly.
