Desks in home office, by van Rijn

Description

Since the lockdown, more and more people are working from home. To be able to work comfortably there, you need sufficient desk space. I have placed a desktop on an IKEA base (Skarsta), in order to have a thicker and more solid top. I put the other top on an IKEA chest of drawers (Alex) and 2 legs.

Work description: how did you realize your project

I smoothed the edges of the plywood by smearing wood filler in it. I then sanded both sheets well and primed them. Then sanded again, and provided with Histor's satin varnish. I gave the tops of the sheets a coat of lacquer. The first top is quite easy to attach to the IKEA base, by means of 8 screws. Screwed the second sheet from below through the top of the chest of drawers. Here is another extra bar screwed along the length for extra stiffness.
