Plywood Asian goldplex B/BB ordering cut to size sheets online

Plywood is one of the most popular types of board material. It is strong, lightweight with a smooth top layer. This Asian hardwood plywood panel shares these qualities. Plywood can be cut or milled to size in various shapes. The most commonly chosen shape  is a rectangle, but we also mill circles, ovals, hexagons or even parallelograms to size. Order cut-to-size Plywood easily online. For a neat finish for your DIY project, choose one of the available (edge) finishes.

Plywood Asian goldplex B/BB: what is that?

Plywood Asian goldplex B/BB is a popular plywood-variant because it is economical. It has similar properties to meranti plywood. It is interior glued and therefore only suitable for interior applications.
Each panel has a unique appearance, as it is constructed from various hardwood species. The hardwood base makes this board material impact-resistant and popular for joinery. This also makes the material more hard wearing. The wood grain is often clearly visible, which creates coarse grains in the wood. If the panel material is to be exposed, please take this appearance into account. The pattern of the wood grain runs lengthwise in the panel material as standard.

Plywood Asian goldplex B/BB is composed of several hardwood veneer layers. These layers are glued together crosswise, resulting in a sturdy panel. However, the glued wood can be subject to tension during sawing and machining. This may lead to a slight curvature in longer panels.

Plywood quality birch B/BB

The quality of plywood surface layers is indicated by letter combinations and refers to the visual assessment of plywood wood. There is a letter designation for the visible side (top) and one for the reverse side (bottom). It refers to the quality of the deck veneer, the quality of the gluing, for example, is indicated differently. Read more about all visible qualities here

This board material has been designated B/BB. The top side has visual quality B, and the reverse side has visual quality BB. A plywood panel with visual quality B/BB has an acceptable visual quality with some imperfections. On the top side (B), colour variations, small knots, repairs and other irregularities may occur, albeit to a limited extent. The reverse side (BB) may contain more imperfections, such as large knots, repairs and colour variations.

Because of its slightly lower visual quality, plywood with the visibility grade B/BB is often used in applications where aesthetics are not the highest priority, such as for structural purposes, internal cladding and furniture construction. It is important to note that visibility grades can vary depending on local standards and specifications. When purchasing plywood, it is advisable to consult the specific ratings and standards of the manufacturer or supplier to ensure that the wood meets the requirements for the intended application.

Available thicknesses of Plywood Asian goldplex B/BB

Plywood Asian goldplex B/BB can be ordered in different thicknesses. You can easily specify your desired thickness during the ordering process to meet your size requirements. The following thicknesses are available: 9 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm and 22 mm.

Machining Plywood Asian goldplex B/BB panels

Working with plywood is easy when you have sharp tools. For drilling holes, we recommend a wood drill bit with a centring point. Pre-drilling is also recommended. This board material may discolour over time, so finish it with a clear varnish, stain or paint. Use an edge sealer to finish the edges to prevent the varnish or stain from soaking into the plywood, which can lead to loosening of the veneer layers.

Specific applications Plywood Asian goldplex B/BB

Plywood Asian goldplex B/BB is highly suitable for projects such as floorboards, joinery, moulds, but also as a base for furniture work. The sheet material is interior glued and therefore can only be used indoors. We do not recommend using this sheet material where it will be visible.
