Space is rare in our small apartment. That's why Blick itself offered a small niche behind the children's room door for a shelf. There should be space for books, games and even a small 'reading cave'. offer.

As an amateur, I approached the entire (self-planned) construction step by step. It should make the best possible use of the space in the children's room niche and include the child. The shelf is made of multiplex birch 1.8 cm and is not on the floor but is only held on the side walls by three boards, each with four screws and washers, which were slightly recessed into the wood to be less visible. The connections between the shelves are largely made with flat dowels and glue. However - because the construction would fit very tightly into the niche - I had to use normal countersunk screws instead in several places (in the middle). The wooden edges should still be coated with "Randsealer" (frencken) must be sealed to preserve the wood color and to protect the wood a little. The surfaces may also be glazed. The area below will be expanded in the next step. Here, precisely fitting cushions and a small curtain, a small lighting and painting the back wall are supposed to create a "cave" let arise. Here, too, the child should be involved as much as possible (motives, painting, choice of colors, etc.)
