Elegant poplar plywood dining table, by Frans

We have made an elegant dining table where we have made a top of a Multiplex plate from TOSIZE.co.uk. To give it extra strength, we milled 2 angle profiles into the underside of the top.

Poplar table top with aluminum frame

Because the plywood plate alone is not strong enough as a table top, we have created 2 angle profiles of steel in the underside of the top. This was done by making 2 slots with a circular saw and milling out the rest with a router. After this, the 2 corner profiles are attached to the wood with ramp nuts and bolts. We purchased the steel legs through another party and are ready to use.
