Order MDF Flexible Cross boards online

MDF is one of the most popular types of board material. This variant was specially developed for bending situations. And with us you can easily order flexible MDF online! This board material can easily be sawn to size and processed. Because it is a thin and flexible material, this board material must always be fixed.

Flexible MDF: what is it?

MDF flexible cross grooved is an MDF board that has deep grooves in the width. These grooves are made to bend the board. This bendability makes it possible to create curves with the board. The boards are often used in furniture and interior design to create curves in the design.

MDF is a popular board material that can be used for countless projects. Flexible MDF is MDF natural variant that has been specially developed for bending. MDF natural is often chosen because of its smooth surface and because it is easy to process and assemble. The board material can be recognised by its light brown colour. This variant has special grooves, which gives it its bending properties.

This board material is a constructive board. This means that this board material needs to be finished before it can be used for visible work.

MDF Flexible Cross

The grain of this board runs across its width, which means that the boards can be bent lengthwise. Think of the finishing of a low, wide barrel. If you are looking to finish a tall, long pillar, then go for MDF buigbaar lang.

Available thicknesses MDF Flexible

With us you can order flexible MDF of high quality. You can easily specify the desired thickness in the product configurator. This way, you can be sure that the board material meets your requirements: both the format and the thickness of the material. The following thickness(es) are available: 9 mm and 10 mm.

Machining of MDF boards

The board consists of wood fibres that are compressed under high pressure. This makes the material easy to process. When milling or sawing, this board material does not splinter. The fibres are held together by resin. Therefore, it is important to degrease the board properly before painting it. The material also has a suction effect, which is why we recommend always finishing the open edges with an edge sealer. For this reason, this MDF is only suitable for indoor applications and in dry conditions.

Are you going to paint MDF? Then it is a good idea to plug the screw holes with filler. Then sand and paint it neatly in one go.

Specific applications of Flexible MDF

Flexible MDF is ideally suited for the finishing of low, wide shapes. Think of making s-shapes, but also cylindrical and curved constructions can be created with great ease. The homogeneous structure makes MDF, in comparison to other board material, less sensitive to shrinking and expanding at varying temperatures. MDF Flexible is not suitable for applications in damp spaces or outdoors.
