In my office, the PC and printer are still on the floor. I was looking for a solution for that. After first exploring options at Ikea and on Marktplaats, I decided to turn it into a DIY project. It was to be a wooden cabinet where the PC, printer, accessories, and cables would be neatly hidden away. I wanted it to look not only neat but also attractive, so the cabinet was carefully lacquered on the inside and outside.

How I made this project

The design was created in detail and continually updated on the computer using Word. I did not use any additional tools for this. Once the design was complete, I ordered the necessary sheet material from OPMAATZAGEN.nl. For the dowel connections, I first drilled holes into the sheet material. I then primed the entire piece and lacquered the interior surfaces. I assembled the primed and lacquered wood pieces using dowels and wood glue, with the help of clamps. Finally, I lacquered the outside of the cabinet. The finishing touches include hinges and wheels. The top and handle are still to come: these will be made of solid wood.
